| ALAN’S ADVICE: Community College Funding- The current year 05-06 has been a good one for the community colleges. The system received in excess of nine percent new money including equalization aid, and a COLA of 4.23%. Early indications from the legislative analyst peg the COLA for 06-07 at over 5%. While the news is good, there is still concern that Proposition 98 will not provide full funding for the colleges. Stay tuned for more information next week. |
